This is a review of a split cassette between Italy's Cameraoscura and Stone Wired called "Paenitentia/Fatality" which was released by Exabyss Records and we will start off the review with Cameraoscura who returns with his mixture of dark ambient and drone.
His side of the split starts out with some dark soundscapes while his track is over 14 minutes in length. Atmospheric sounding drones are also utilized quite a bit throughout his side of the recording along with the song also being divided into 3 different chapters as well as adding in a lot of ambient elements and synths, as the song progresses the music also gets more diverse sounding and all of the music is instrumental and the production also sounds very dark.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Cameraoscura and if you are a fan of dark ambient and drone you should check out his side of the split.
Next up is Stone Wired a solo project that plays an old school form of death industrial.
His side of the split starts out with some power electronics which also evolve into some harsh sounding noises. The track is also 14 minutes in length and is also divided into 2 different chapter along with a great amount of death industrial elements while all of the music is also instrumental along with the music also getting more diverse as his side of the split progresses and the production also sounds very dark.
In my opinion Stone Wired are a very great sounding old school death industrial solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out his side of the split.
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of drone, dark ambient and death industrial. 8 out of 10.
