Pathogens are a solo project from Seattle, Washington that plays a very apocalyptic form of death industrial and this is a review of his 2020 album "Soiled Cogs Forever Grinding" which was released as a joint effort between Scry Recordings and Black Horizons.
Dark yet distorted soundscapes start off the album while all 3 of the tracks are also very long and epic in length. Percussion's are also added into some parts of the songs along with some spoken word parts also being added into the background briefly which also enhances the apocalyptic atmosphere of the recording.
Harsh noises and power electronics are also a very huge part of the recording while the music also mixes in a great amount of manipulated samples. Demonic growls can also be heard at times along with the music also mixing in a lot of death industrial elements as well as all of the songs also sounding very different from each other.
Electric guitar noises can also be heard in certain sections of the recording along with some electronic drums also being utilized briefly as well as some synths also being used throughout the recording. The production sounds very dark while the songs themes revolved around apocalyptic topics.
In my opinion Pathogens are a very great sounding apocalyptic death industrial solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Hollow Eyes". 8 out of 10.
