Lindy-Fay Hella & Dei Farne are a duo form Norway that plays a mixture of noise, experimental, drone, dark synth, prog, krautrock, folk, jazz and world music and this is a review of their 2021 album "Hildring" which was released by Norse Mvsic.
Percussion starts off the album which also gives the music more of a tribal feeling while also adding in a great amount of world music elements. Synths are also very huge part of the recording while all of the vocals are also done in a very clean style and bass guitars can also be heard in some parts of the album.
When acoustic guitars are utilized they also bring in touches of folk music while the album also gets very atmospheric sounding at times. The recording also gets very experimental on some of the tracks along with the songs also showing some touches of 70's era prog and krautrock mixed in with the more modern era.
Drones can also be heard in certain sections of the recording along with all of the tracks also sounding very different from each other as well as some songs also adding in touches of noise, pop and jazz music. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover the Sami people of Northern Europe.
In my opinion Lindy-Fay Hella & Dei Farne are a very great sounding mixture of noise, experimental, drone, dark synth, prog, krautrock, folk, jazz and world music and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Hildring" "Insect" "The lake" and "Otherworld". 8 out of 10.
