Fields Of Mildew are a solo project from Germany that plays a minimalist form of dark folk and this is a review of his 2021 ep "The Complete Woes" which was released by Nordvis Produktion.
Acoustic guitars start off the ep and also bring in elements of folk music onto the recording while also using a good mixture of both finger picking and full chords. All of the songs also sound very different from each other while all of the vocals are also done in a very clean style and percussion can also be heard at times.
one song is also very long and epic in length while elements of minimalism can also be heard at times as well as a couple of the tracks also being very long and epic in length, spoken word parts are also utilized briefly towards the end.
Fields Of Mildew plays a style of neo-folk that is very dark and minimalist sounding. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover hope and despair themes.
In my opinion Fields Of Mildew are a very great sounding minimalist and dark folk solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Triad of Incomplete Woes" and "The Dawn of Primal Fears". 8 out of 10.
