Bank Myna are a band from France that plays a mixture of drone and dark post rock and this is a review of their album "Volaverunt" which will be released in 2022 as a joint effort between Araki Records, A la dérive Records, Stellar Frequencies, Duality Records and Cold Dark Matter Records.
Dark soundscapes start off the album along with a brief use of bells while the vocals are done in mostly a clean and ethereal style. The songs also mix in a great amount of drones while a great portion of the tracks are also very long and epic in length and the synths also add in elements of ambient.
Drum beats are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording while the music also mixes in a great amount of post rock influences. Electric and bass guitars are also added into some parts of the recording and also add in a touch of doom metal along with the music also having its experimental moments and the whole album also sticks to a slower direction.
Bank Myna plays a musical style that takes drone and dark post rock and mixes it in with touches of ambient and doom metal to create a sound of t heir own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in a mixture of French and English and cover dark and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Bank Myna are a very great sounding mixture of drone and dark post rock and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Open Door and "The Sleep of Reason". 8 out of 10.
