Uranium are a solo project from the United States that plays a mixture of power electronics and industrial with some elements of black metal and this is a review of his 2021 album "Wormboiler" which was released by Sentient Ruin Laboratories.
Harsh power electronics start off the album while the vocals are also done in a very ritualistic style which also mixes in some grim black metal touches. programmed beats can also be heard at times while synths are also added into some parts of the recording as well as the songs also adding in some home made style percussions.
High pitched screams are also a very huge part of the recording while the music also brings in a great amount of industrial elements. A couple of the tracks are also very long and epic in length along with the music also capturing a very apocalyptic sounding atmosphere throughout the recording as well as each track also sounding very different from each other., harsh noises are also added in certain sections of the album and later songs also mix in a small amount of deep yet demonic sounding vocals.
Uranium plays a musical style that takes black metal, power electronics and industrial and mixes them together to create a sound of his own. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover human annihilation and apocalyptic themes.
In my opinion Uranium are a very great sounding mixture of power electronics and industrial with some elements of black metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Cold Furnance" "We Deserve Death" and "The Glorious Void". 8 out of 10.
