Eeli Helin are a solo project form Finland that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording plays a mixture of harsh noise, ambient, industrial, trap, synthwave, witch house and world music and this is a review of his 2021 album "Vestibule" which was released by Trepanation Recordings.
Ambient style drones and synths start off the album along with some power electronics a few seconds later which also evolved into harsh noises. Elements of industrial are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording while electric guitars can also be heard in certain sections of the album and the programmed beats also add in touches of trap music.
Some of the tracks also show the music going into more of a witch house direction while the whole album is also instrumental. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing along with each track also sounding very different from each other and some songs also shows some touches of world music and synthwave.
On this recording Eeli Helin takes harsh noise, ambient, industrial, trap, synthwave, witch house and world music and mixes them together to create something very different from his previous release while the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Eeli Helin and if you are a fan of harsh noise, ambient, industrial, trap, synthwave, witch house and world music, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Marble Palace" "Murk Hunting" and "Shelter At The Foot Of A Volcano". 8 out of 10.
