This is a review of a split album between Germany's Fjældmark and Austria's Wintarslāf which was released by Trepanatain Recordings and we will start off the review with Fjældmark a solo project that plays dungeon synth.
His side of the split starts out with some dark and noisy soundscapes while also adding in some atmospheric sounding drones at times. All of the tracks sound very different from each other along with the second track taking the music into more of an epic sounding dungeon synth direction.
At times the music also captures the atmosphere of a fantasy movie soundtrack while also adding in some elements of dark ambient and neo-classical. Programmed beats can also be heard in some parts of the music as well as the synths also bringing in a variety of many different sounding keys and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion Fjældmark is a very great sounding dungeon synth solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out his side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Those Who Refused" and "Ellipses".
Next up is Wintarslāf a solo project that plays winter synth.
His side of the split starts out with some dark soundscapes while his track is over 20 minutes in length. The music is mostly instrumental along with the synths taking the music into more of a dungeon synth direction along with the synths also adding in a variety of many different sounding keys.
Winter and nature orientated soundscapes and winds can also be heard in the background along with some more distorted sounding synths also being added into the music briefly and as the track progresses the music also gets more diverse sounding as well as adding some black emtal screams in towards the end and the production also sounds very dark.
In my opinion Wintarslāf is a very great sounding winter synth solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out his side of the split.
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and would recommend it to all fans of dungeon and winter synth.
