Gasparotti is a solo artist from Italy that plays a mixture of experimental, avant garde, drone and ambient and this is a review of his 2019 album "Istantanee Vol. 1" which was released as a joint effort between Dornwald Records, Dio Drone and II Dio Selvaggio Records.
Electronic music sounds start off the album while the music also brings in a decent amount of ambient sounding synths. Drones can also be heard in certain sections of the recording along with the songs also having their experimental and avant garde moments and all of the music is instrumental.
Electroacoustic sounds are also a very huge part of the recording along with all of the tracks also sounding very different from each other. When pianos are utilized they also add in some touches of avant garde classical music as well as a couple of the songs also being very long and epic in length, distorted amp noises can also be heard briefly as the album progresses, a couple of later tracks also introduces programmed beats and stringed instruments onto the recording.
Gasparotti plays a musical style that takes experimental, avant garde, drone and ambient and mixes them together to create a sound of his own while also keeping everything instrumental and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion Gaparotti is a very great sounding mixture of experimental, avant garde, drone and ambient and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "1" "8" "10" and "13". 8 out of 10.
