Kael Satan is a solo project from the United Kingdom that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a very raw and depressive form of dungeon synth and this is a review of his self released 2019 ep "Live In Norway".
Audience reaction starts off the ep along with some synths a few seconds later while the screams also add in a touch of depressive black metal. Most of the music is rooted in the dungeon synth style along with some of the tracks also being instrumentals and the synths also add in a variety of many different sounding keys.
All of the tracks are also very short in length with the longest track being over 2 minutes while all of the songs also stand out from each other along with the second track also introduce a small amount of throat singing onto the recording and programmed beats can also be heard in some parts of the recording.
On this recording Kael Satan remains true to the raw and depressive style of dungeon synth that was established and the previous release while the production sounds very dark, raw and lo-fi.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Kael Satan and if you are a fan of r aw and depressive dungeon synth, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Lay Me Upon The Bones Of My Forefathers" and "Atop The Death Stained Mountain". 8 out of 10.
