William St. Hugh is a solo artist from Fairhaven, Massachusetts that plays a mixture of ambient, drone, experimental and neo-classical and this is a review of his self released 2019 album "The Luciferian".
Neo-classical style sounds start off the album while the synths also bring in a variety of many different sounding keys as well as having their symphonic and cinematic moments. All of the songs are also instrumentals while a couple of the tracks are also long and epic in length and the music also gets very experimental at times.
The synths also bring in elements of dark ambient while the stringed instruments when they are utilized also gives the music more of a melancholic feeling. Atmospheric sounding drones can also be heard in certain sections of the recording as the album progresses, a couple of later songs also introduces programmed yet militant beats onto the recording and all of the tracks sound very different from each other.
William St. Hugh plays a musical style that takes neo-classical, cinematic music, dark ambient, drone and experimental and mixes them together to create a sound of his own while also keeping everything instrumental and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion William St. Hugh is a very great sounding mixture of neo-classical, dark ambient, experimental and drone and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo artist. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Lightbearer" "Apothesis" and "Lovely Corpse" and "Wretched Wings". 8 out of 10.
