Norway's solo project Blitzkrieg Baby has returned with a new recording which shows the music going for more of a mixture of industrial, electronic and martial and this is a review of his 2020 album "Genocidal Sextasy" which was released by Cloister Recordings.
Dark soundscapes and synths start off the album while whispered voices can also be heard in the background briefly. Programmed beats are also a very huge part of the recording along with the music also bringing in a great amount of industrial elements and the spoken word parts also give the songs more of a martial feeling.
The songs also bring in a great amount of electronic music elements while the synths also add in a variety of many different sounding keys. Touches of 80's era industrial can also be heard in some parts of the recording along with some of the tracks also being instrumentals as well as some aggressive industrial styles vocals also being utilized at times, clean vocals can also be heard briefly and as the album progresses the music also gets more diverse sounding.
On this recording Blitzkrieg Baby takes industrial, electronic music and martial and mixes them together to create a sound of his own. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover mankind's selfishness, arrogance and existential themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Blitzkrieg Baby and if you are a fan of electronic music, industrial and martial, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Kill Them All" "Feed them To The Pigs" and "Piggy". 8out of 10.
