Switzerland's solo project Earthflesh have returned with. a. new. recording which shows. the. music. going for a mixture of harsh noise and noise and this is a review of his self released. 2020 album. "Life's Erosion".
Atmospheric sounding drones start off the album along with the music also getting very repetitive sounding. Noises start off in the background and start out with more static and lo-fi harsh sounds that are mixed down low in the mix in the early stages but also start getting more brutal as times progresses.
The whole album is also a 50 minute improv track that is also recorded live while spoken word parts can also be heard briefly. Elements of harsh noise wall can also be heard in some parts of the music which also gives the song more variety before returning back to a more repetitive and primitive direction.
On this recording Earthflesh mixes in elements of HNW into his mixture of harsh noise and drone to take his sound to another level while the production sounds very raw and unpolished.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Earthflesh and if you are a fan of HNW, harsh noise and drone, you should check out this album. 8 out of 10.
