Gaia Guarda is a solo artist from Quebec, Canada that plays a mixture of darkwave, neo classical and trip hop and this is a review of her 2020 album "Anatomy Of Fear" which was released by Pentapus Records.
Cello's and violins start off the album and are also a very huge part of the recording while the vocals are done in a very clean goth style. When programmed beats are utilized they also add elements of trip hop into the music along with the piano's also bringing in more of a tragic neo classical style.
Touches of darkwave are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording while all of the tracks also sound very different from each other. At times the vocals also give the music more of an ethereal atmosphere along with one track also introducing harps onto the album as well as a lot of the songs also mixing in electronic music influences.
Gaia Guarda plays a musical style that takes darkwave, neo-classical and trip hop and mixes them together to create a sound of her own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and depressive themes.
In my opinion Gaia Guarda is a very great sounding mixture of darkwave, neo classical and trip hop and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Anatomy Of Fear" "Heartbeat" "At The Bottom" and "Drowning In Fear". 8 out of 10.
