Deathnoisefrequency Interview

1.Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the band since the recording and release of the new ep?

We are at the studio wrapping up the up coming Ep, consist of 2 new tracks, a continuation of the previous 2 Eps story.

2.Recently you have released an ep, musically how does it differ from your previous release?

Let’s say all of these Eps are part of an album, same concept when it comes to lyrics and story and same when it comes to music direction and atmosphere.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band has explored on both of the releases?

So far we have released 2 Eps, both of them are talking about the same story, without getting into much details (we prefer living it to the audience to discover), the story is happening somewhere in the past, unknown period of time but with no doubt it’s no less than 300 to 400 years go, it’s about a mysterious beast, children and wailing mothers! Connect the dots lol

4.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the ep cover?

It’s symbolized the beast’s the cruelty of him/her taking over the village (where most of the story happenes)

5.Currently there are only 2 members in the band, are you open to expanding the line up or do you prefer to remain a duo?

For now we have no intention to expand it.

6.The ep was released on 'Wall Of Sound: Dark Mode', can you tell us a little bit more about this label?

Dark Mode is a new dedicated Metal/rock record label that launched back in March 2021, awesome people In there, they love metal music and been part of the metal scene since the late 90’s, their intention is revive the metal scene in Saudi Arabia and middle east in general.

7.The band is from Saudi Arabia a country that is known for being a dangerous place for a metal or any type of extreme music band, do you manage to keep a low profile in your home country and also avoid the authorities?

That was 10 years back! Now Saudi Arabia is becoming the land of music in the region , we have hosted a lot of music festivals and events, things are rapidly changing, we are no more not allowed to perform publicly, all music genres are more than welcome to perform.

8.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of underground metal, noise and experimental?

Pretty positive and unexpected! We have loved all the reactions that we have received.

9.What is going on with 'Grieving Age' these days?

Finalizing a new EP with 3 new songs, to be released around March/April 2022.

10.When can we expect a full length and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

For Deathnoisefrequency, yes, there is an intention to release a full album in 2023, we just want to finish the Eps phase which gonna be like 5 Eps then we gonna work on a new album with new concept but definitely keeping the noise, experimental doom and creepiness.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

A lot! But we have been strongly inspired by The Cure, Chet Baker, Celtic Frost, Swan, Triptykon and Shostakovich.

Nowadays we are listening to the following:

Nirvana- In Utero

Roxy Music- For Your Pleasure

The Verve- A Storm In Heaven

The Murder Capital- When I Have Fears

Stan Getz- Getz/Gilberto

Pink Floyd- Animals

Bauhaus- Mask

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

Thanks a lot for the very enjoyable interview! Can’t want to drop the 3rd EP in Jan, it’s pure loud and noise!

Deathnoisefrequency/Omitted Horrid Chapters/Wall Of Sound: Dark Mode/2021 EP Review

Deathnoisefrequency  are  a  duo  from  Saudi  Arabia  that  plays  a  mixture  of  experimental,  noise  and  doom  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2021  ep  "Omitted  Horrid  Chapters"  which  was  released  by  Wall  of  Sound:  Dark  Mode.

A  very  slow,  dark  and  heavy  doom  metal  sound  starts  off  the  ep  while  also  adding  in  some  experimental  soundscapes.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  both  of  the  tracks  also  being  long  and  epic  in  length  and  the  keyboards  also  give  the  music  more  of  a haunting  atmosphere.

The  guitars  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  reverb  while  the  vocals  are  done  in  a  grim  style  that  also  adds  in  a  touch  of  black  metal.  Noises  can  also  be  heard  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  as  well  as  the  guitar  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  and  trumpets  can  also b e  heard  briefly.

Deathnoisefrequency  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  experimental,  noise  and  doom  metal  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness  and  horror  themes.

In  my  opinion  Deathnoisefrquency  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  experimental,  noise  and  doom  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  duo.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "The  Children's  Lamenting  Dirge".  8  out  of  10.
