Margolis/Fiebig/Emerge/Tripolar Exercises/Attenuation Circuit/Pogus Productions/Gebrauchtemusik2024 Collaboration Album Review

 

  Germany's  musical  projects  Margolis,  Fiebig  and  Emerge  team  up  on  this  recording  and  go  for  a  mixture  of  drone,  electroacoustic  and  musique  concrete  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2024  album  "Tripolat  Exercises"  which  was  released  as  a  joint  effort  between  Attenuation  Circuit,  Pogus  Productions  and  Gebrauchtemusik.

  Field  recordings  start  off  the  album  before  adding  in  some  recycled  sounds  and  home  made  instruments.  Most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  while  the  music  also  has  its  experimental  and  avant  garde  moments  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  great  amount  of  drones.

  A  lot  of  the  music  is  also  improvised  while  most  of  the  music  also  sticks  to  more  of  an  instrumental  direction.  All  of  the  songs  also  have  a  different  musical  style  to  them  along  with  the  album  also  adding  in  an  atmospheric  touch  at  times,  voices  and  whispers  are  added  on  the  closing  track.

  Magolis,  Fiebig  and  Emrge  mix  all  3  of  their  differnet  musical  styles  together  to  create  an  album  that  takes  drone,  musique  concrete,  electroacoustic  and  field  recordings  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  something  very  different  while  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  lo-fi.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  collaboration  between  Margolis,  Fiebig  and  Emerge  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  drone,  electroacoustic  and  musique  concrete,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACSK  INCLUDE  "Man  Folded  Reality"  and  "Elephant  Muted  Factories".  8  out  of  10.

Emerge/Gerald Fiebig/Limited Liability Sounds/Attenuation Circuit/2021 Collaboration Live Album Review

 

  Emerge  are  a  solo  project  from  Germany  that  has been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  does  2  different  live  sets  one  with  Limited  Liability  Sounds  and  another  with  Gerald  Fiebig  and  brings  in  a  mixture  of  experimental,  drone,  ambient,  psychedelic  and  improv  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2021  collaboration  album  which  was  released  by  Attenuation  Circuit.

  Atmospheric  sounding  drones  start  off  the  album  while  the  music  also  gets  very  experimental  sounding  at  times.  Field  recordings  can  also  be  heard  in  some  parts  of  the  live  sets  along  with  some  psychedelic  style  soundscapes  also  being  utilized  at  times  and  all  of  the  music  also  sticks  to  an  instrumental  direction.

  All  of  the  music  is  also  improvised  while  the  music  also  gets  more  diverse  sounding  as  the  album  progresses.  Synths  are  also  introduced  on  the  second  track  and  also  takes  the  music  into  more  of  an  ambient  direction  along  with  the  music  also  keeping  a  very  avant  garde  style  as  well  as  incorporating  a  more  lo-fi  atmosphere.

  On  this  recording  Emerge  mixes  his  style  with  Limited  Liability  Sounds  on  one  set  and  Gerald  Fiegig  on  another  set  to  create  a  very  diverse  sounding  recording  while  the  production  sounds  very  dark.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  collaboration  between  Emerge,  Limited  Liability  Sounds  and  Gerald  Fiegig  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  ambient,  drone,  experimental,  improv  and  psychedelia  you  should  check  out  this  album.  8  out  of  10.

Das Tote Kapital/Gerald Fiebig/Self Titled/Attenuation Circuit/2021 Collaboration Album Review

 

  Germany's  Die  Tote  Kapital  &  Gerald  Fiebig  team  up  on  this  recording  and  bring  in  an  improvised  mixture  of  experimental  and  electroacoustic  music  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  titled  2021  album  which  was  released  by  Attenuation  Circuit.

  Drums  and  electronic  music  sounds  start  off  the  album  while  the  music  also  gets  very  experimental  ad  avant  garde  sounding  at  times.  All  of  the  music  is  also  improvised  along  with  some  field  recordings  and  acoustic  style  instruments  also  being  added  into  some  parts  of  the  recording  and most  of  the  tracks  are  instrumental.  

  A  couple  of  the  songs  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  while  each  track  also  sounds  very  different  from  each  other  which  in  return  makes  the  recording  more  diverse  sounding.  Some  songs  also  add  in  some  amplified  objects  and  samples  along  with  some  touches  of  avant  jazz  and  early  20th  century  music  and  as  the  album  progresses  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  parts  can  also  be  heard.

  Die  Tote  Kapital  &  Gerlald  Fiebig  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  avant  garde,  experimental  and  electroacoustic  music  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own  as  well  as  keeping  everything  improvised  and  instrumental  while  the  production  also  sounds  very  dark.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  collaboration  between  Das  Tote  Kapital  and  Gerald  Fiebig  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  avant  garde,  experimental  and  electroacoustic  music ,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Chance"  and  "Horror  Vacui".  8  out  of  10.

Artificial Memory Trace/Gerald Fiebeg/Emerge/PBK/Fiction Circuit/Attenuation Circuit/2019 4 Way Split Album Review

  This  is  a  review  of  a  4  way  split  album  between  Ireland's  Artificial  Memory  Trace,  Germany's  Gerald  Fiebeg,  Emerge  and  U.S.A's  PBK  called  "Fiction  Circuit  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  PBK  trace  a  solo  artist  that  plays  a  mixture  of  ambient,  noise  and  drone

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  some  harsh  noise  while  his  track  is  over  9  minutes  in  length  while  atmospheric  sounding  drones  can  also  be  heard  in  some  parts  of  the  song.  Elements  of  ambient  are  also  added  into  the  music  which  also  makes  the  track  more  diverse  as  well  as  keeping  everything  instrumental  and  field  recordings  are  also  utilized  at  times.

  Next  up  is  Gerald  Fiebeg  a  solo  artist  that  plays  a  mixture  of  experimental,  drone  and  field  recordings. 

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  some  atmospheric  sounding  drones  along  with  his  track  also  being  over  the  9  minute  limit.  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  experimental  and  avant  garde  sounding  and  all  of  the  music  sticks  to  an  instrumental  direction  as  well  as  getting  very  diverse  at  times.

  Next  up  is Artificial  Memory  Trace  a  solo  artist  that  plays  a  mixture  of  experimental  and  ambient.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  ambient  and  drone  orientated  style while  also  getting  very  experimental  and  avant  garde  at  times.  The  tracks  is  also  over  the  9  minute  limit  along  with  some  touches  of  noise  also  being  utilized  at  times  as  well  as  keeping  everything  in  an  experimental  direction.

  Closing  the  split  is  Emerge  a  solo  project  that  plays  a  mixture  of  minimalism,  experimental,  ambient  and  noise.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  an  almost  silent  sound  before  going  into  more  of  an  ambient  musical  direction.  His  tracks  is  also  over  the  9  minute  limit  along  with  the  music  also  having  its  experimental  and  avant  garde  moments  and  as  the  song  progresses  a  small  amount  of  noise  elements  can  also  be  heard.

  In  conclusion  I  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  noise,  experimental,  ambient  and  drone.  8  out  of 10.
