Colossloth are a solo project from the united Kingdom that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording plays a mixture of an esoteric mixture of noise, industrial and electronic music and this is a review of his 2025 album "The Harmony Knife" which will be released on February 28th by Cold Spring Records.
Spoken words and dark soundscapes start off the album along with some synths and electronic music sounds a few seconds later. Elements of harsh noise can also be heard at times while some of the vocals also sound very demonic sounding as well as the songs also adding in a lot of samples.
Industrial style beats are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording while each song also sounds very different from each other. Some of the tracks are also instrumentals along with some of the electronics also adding in some extreme metal style brutality, a couple of the tracks are also very long and epic in length and as the album progresses acoustic guitars and clear vocals are also added on a couple of songs as well as heavy doom metal style riffing also being added towards the end.
On this recording Colossloth takes noise, industrial and electronic music and mixes them together to create a very diverse release. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics are based upon the writings of Ted Kaczynski.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Colossloth and if you are a fan of noise, industrial and electronic music, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Transfiguration Manifesto" and "Is Survived By". 8 out of 10.
