United Kingdom's Eye Of Solitude have returned with a new recording which continues the funeral doom metal style of previous releases and this is a review of their self released 2018 album "Slaves Of Solitude".
Atmospheric soundscapes start off the album while spoken word parts can also be heard briefly along with some drum beats being added onto the recording a few seconds later as well as some tragic sounding keyboards which also mixes into the heavier sections of the music and also gives the songs a more epic atmosphere.
Vocals are mostly death metal growls while all of the tracks are very long and epic in length along with the slow riffing being very heavily rooted in funeral doom metal, clean guitars can also be heard in certain sections of the recording as well as the guitar leads being done in a very melodic fashion.
Clean vocals can also be heard on a couple of the tracks while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and on the closing track a small amount of screams can be heard and they add in a touch of depressive black metal along with all of the songs sticking to a slow direction.
Eye Of Solitude creates another recording that remains true to the funeral doom metal style of previous releases, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover sorrow and negativity themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Eye Of Solitude and if you are a fan of funeral doom metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Blind Earth" and "Boundless Silence". 8 out of 10.
