Kollaps are a band from Australia that plays a mixture of post industrial, harsh noise, power electronics and no wave and this is a review of their 2017 album "Sibling Lovers" which was released by Trait Records.
Harsh noises and power electronics start off the album along with some spoken word parts a few seconds later while also mixing in elements of a more underground post industrial style along with some scrap metal taking the place of a drum kit which also gives the music more of an avant garde feeling.
Some of the tracks are very long and epic in length while aggressive screams can also be heard at times along with a few of the songs also adding in bass guitars and programming as well as the vocals also adding in more of a melodic industrial style on later songs and the music also incorporates elements of no wave.
Kollaps plays a musical style that takes harsh noise, post industrial and no wave and mixes them together to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover dark, violent and political themes.
In my opinion Kollaps are a very great sounding mixture of harsh noise, post industrial and now wave and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE 'Capitalism" "It has A Mouth" and "Sibling Lovers". 8 out of 10.
