New York's Walking Bombs and Grisfailure team to create a recording that mixes noise, experimental, industrial and punk together and this is a review of t heir 2019 album "Suicide by Citizenship" which was released by Nefarious Industries.
Dark industrial sounds start off the album along with some power sounding bass guitars a few seconds later. Vocals also add in a good mixture of clean vocals and death metal growls while the music also mixes in programmed beats and harsh noises into some parts of the recording.
Spoken word parts are also brought on some of the tracks while a later song also introduces female vocals onto the recording as well as some guitar noises also being added into certain sections of the album and at times the music also brings in the use of a real drum kit,
All of the songs sound very different from each other while the music also mixes in a great amount of avant garde and experimental elements as well as some touches of punk and some of the tracks are very long and epic in length, as the album progresses a brief use of acoustic guitars can also be heard and guitar leads and screams are also added onto the closing track. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover the people's faith in the American being destroyed, ground up and spitted on by gerrymandering, self important Christo-fascists and unchecked capital greed.
In my opinion this is a very great sounding collaboration between Walking Bombs and Gridfailure and if you are a fan of noise, experimental, industrial and punk, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Blood Offering Distraction" "Now We Know Who You Are" and "Bleeding Out". 8 out of 10.
