Take Them To The Woods is a solo project from South Africa that plays an acoustic form of neo-folk and this is a review of his self released 2019 ep "The Gathering" which is also the first chapter in a 3 part series.
Acoustic guitar playing starts off the ep and they also use a good mixture of both finger picking and full chords. Elements of folk music can also be heard quite a bit throughout the recording while all of the tracks are all done in an instrumental style.
All of the songs also sounding very different from each other and acoustic guitars are the main musical instrument that is presented on this recording and as the ep progresses a brief use of percussion can also be heard.
Take Them To The Woods plays a very acoustic form orientated form of music that is mostly rooted in a folk style while also, keeping everything instrumental and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion Take Them To The Woods is a very great sounding acoustic neo-folk solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Gather Round" and "Clear The Mind And Heed this Truth". 8 out of 10.
