Ab Uno are a musical project from Germany that plays a mixture of drone, dark ambient, experimental, field recordings and minimalism and this is a review of their 2022 album "Les Gens De Mogador" which was released by Dornwald Records.
Atmospheric sounding drones start off the album while the synths also bring in elements of dark ambient. When drum beats are utilized they also give the music more of a minimalist feeling along with the music also getting very experimental sounding at times and most of the tracks are also very long and epic in length.
Field recordings can also be heard in certain sections of the album while all of the songs stick to an instrumental direction. Each track also goes into a different musical direction along with some dark soundscapes also being utilized at times and the whole recording is also very electronic orientated, spoken word parts can also be heard briefly.
Ab Uno plays a musical style that takes drone, dark ambient, experimental and minimalism and mixes them together to create a sound of their own as well as keeping everything instrumental while the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion Ab Uno is a very great sounding mixture of drone, dark ambient, experimental, field recordings and minimalism and if you are a fan of t hose musical genres, you should check out this duo.
