Norway's solo project Picture Ann has returned with a new recording which shows the music going for a mixture of dark ambient, experimental rock and metal and this is a review of his 2022 ep "Those Abundant Ruins" which was released by Floodgate Moods Productions.
Programmed beats start off the ep along with some clean playing a few seconds alter which also adds in elements of experimental rock. When whispered vocals are utilized they also add in a touch of black metal along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them as well as the music also adding in ambient style synths at times and the guitars also get heavier on the closing song.
On this recording Picture Ann mixes experimental, dark ambient and metal to create a very diverse sousing recording. The production sounds very dark while the song themes focus on nature,
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Picture Ann and if you are a fan of experimental rock, d ark ambient and metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "The Woods Became A Temple". 8 out of 10.
