The Kahless Clone are a band from Chicago, Illinois that plays an instrumental form of dark metal with elements of post rock and this is a review of their self released 2015 ep "An Endless Loop" which will be released on March 17th.
Water sounds start off the ep along with some elements of drone and ambient which also leads up to keyboards becoming a huge part of the recording and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and when the music gets heavy you can hear a lot of doom metal influences in the bands musical style.
Half of the songs avoid any use of vocals or lyrics and when solos and leads are utilized they are very melodic and melancholic sounding and also brings in post rock influences into the bands musical sound along with the songs bringing in a great mixture of both clean and heavy parts and all of the songs are very long and epic in length and also stick to a very slow musical direction.
The Kahless Clone plays an instrumental style that brings in the heaviness of doom and dark metal and mixes it in with the progressive and melodic structures to create a sound of their own and the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording.
In my opinion The Kahless Clone are a very great sounding instrumental mixture of dark, doom and post metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Leave this Place With Me" and "A Somber Reflection". 8 out of 10.
