This is a review of another recording from Denmark's Picture Ann which shows the music going for a lo-fi mixture of ambient, experimental, metal and minimalist rock and the ep was released in 2020 by Floodgate Moods Productions and called "The Gray".
Clean playing starts off the ep and also brings in elements of minimalist and post rock while whispered vocals can also be heard briefly. At times the music also gets experimental sounding while the synths also bring in elements of ambient along with the distorted sounds also adding some metal influences onto the recording.
At times the music also gets very experimental sounding while the electric guitar leads are also done in a very melodic style. Most of the tracks are short in length along with one song also being over 7 minutes long along with all of the songs sounding very different from each other as well as some spoken word parts and vocals being added on the closing track.
On this recording Picture Ann goes for more of a mixture of ambient, experimental, metal and minimalist rock. The production sounds very dark and lo-fi while the song themes focus on the Dark Romantic writers of the past.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Picture Ann and if you are a fan of ambient, experimental, metal and minimalist rock, you should check out the ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Casket removal Part II" and "Gray". 8 out of 10.
