Moloch are a solo project from Poland that plays a black metal influenced form of dark synthwave and this is a review of his 2018 ep "The Other Side" which will be released on April 30th by Via Nocturna.
Dark ambient style synths start off the ep while also getting very atmospheric at times along with a variety of many different sounding keys as well as the music also bringing in the atmosphere of a classic horror or science fiction movie at times and the songs also use a great amount of programmed beats.
At times the music brings in 80's synth pop and soundtrack music elements while heavy riffs melodic guitar leads are also used at times along with some tracks also bringing in touches of industrial and as the ep progresses a small amount of black metal influences can be heard and all of the tracks sound very different from each other.
Moloch plays a musical style that takes synthwave, electronic, 80's era soundtrack music and a touch of black metal and mixes them together to create a sound of his own as well as keeping everything instrumental and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion Moloch is a very great sounding black metal influenced dark synthwave solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Escape From The Nameless City" adn "A Dream of Death". 8 out of 10.
