World Untouched By Mankind are a solo project from Northern California that plays a mixture of dark ambient and dungeon synth and this is a review of his 2018 cassette "The Forests Are Old With Grief" which will be released in May by Pacific Threnodies.
Dark ambient synths start off the album and also bring in elements of dungeon synth along with a variety of many different sounding keys while the music also gets very atmospheric at times as well as adding drones into some parts of the recording as well as some touches of folk and neo-classical.
Some of the tracks are very long and epic in length while all of the music is instrumental while the music captures the atmosphere of a dark forest along with some depressive and melancholic elements also being used at times as well as all of the tracks sounding very different from each other.
World Untouched By Mankind plays a musical style that takes dark ambient and dungeon synth and mixes them together to create a sound of his own while also keeping everything instrumental and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion World Untouched By Mankind are a very great sounding mixture of dark ambient and dungeon synth and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Beneath The Great Oak" and "Those Who Watched As The World Fell Silent". 8 out of 10.
